Professional Profile
Dr Mengistu Abera Mulatu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Eswatini. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in engineering education, research, postgraduate supervision and academic leadership. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, an MSc from Addis Ababa University and a five-year Bachelor of Technology degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
Dr Mulatu teaches subjects in communication systems, wireless networks, information theory and coding, electronics and related electrical engineering areas. He supervises student research in wireless communication, healthcare AI, satellite-edge networks, cybersecurity and resource-constrained IoT systems.
Dr Mulatu has published research in international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IET Communications and AEU -- International Journal of Electronics and Communications. He also contributes to postgraduate examination, curriculum development, engineering programme accreditation and international peer review.
