Power Systems & Control Research Group

Research in the field of Power Systems is comprised of analysis and design of electrical and integrated energy systems including their planning, design and operation.

The goal of our research group is to develop methods of design, control and analysis based on system theory tools from e.g. control theory, optimisation, operations research, which can be used by engineers in industry to solve real problems.

The main research activities are in the following areas:

  • Control of power electronic systems
  • Electric vehicles and wireless charging
  • Electric drives, Power converters for energy conversion systems
  • Power systems modelling and optimization,
  • Power systems protection and Renewable energy integration
  • Big data analytics and machine learning for smart grid
